"Born and Raised in KYOTO
Motifs and patterns handed down from ancient times
seisuke88 revives them with modern touch."
Around 200 years ago, from the late Edo Period into the Meiji Period, a completely novel style of obi (sash for kimono) were manufactured in the Nishijin area of Kyoto. This new style included the work and designs of talented Japanese-style painters in the art circles of Kyoto. When Seisuke Takahash; the the third-generation owner of a sixty-year-old textile plant discovered design books and fragments of kimono fabrics common to those days in a family warehouse, he was fascinated by the boldness and mysteriousness of colors and patterns which appeared in the books, and shortly after he launched seisuke88 conducting all procedures of planning, manufacturing, and sales to care for individual customer directly linking the brand with the plant.
